ALL DAY REVOLUTION – our love digitality: The display window of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in Berlin

In 2019, EIGENHEIM Weimar/Berlin is the display window of the Bauhaus University Weimar as part of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus. A laboratory, network nodes, communication & action space, four themes, one anniversary, one year 2019 in Weimar and Berlin.

Vernissage 30 August 2019, 7 pm

A revolution is gradually taking place in our society. Discussed intensively for a decade now, the concept of digital revolution conveys how digital technology is transforming all areas of life.

Similar to the industrial revolution - from which the Bauhaus ensued - the digital revolution also inspires new forms of coexistence as well as art and design. Swift changes in the sphere of economics and work, in public as well as private life, accompany the digital revolution. New media are increasingly influencing communication behaviour, socialisation processes and linguistic culture. Trends and unanswered questions about the future of the digital revolution include application areas and development potential of artificial intelligence. We have entered a charming love affair with digitality. How this will continue to develop is completely open, however.

What form is the digital revolution taking? How is life shaped in the digital age? How do we deal with personality rights and electoral manipulations? Is digitality a threat to democracy? Where are politics missing out? Is Big Data taking control? Is digitalisation an opportunity or a curse? And, of course, - what new means of expression ensue for art?
