Probst Identity
100 years of Bauhaus – 100 years of jazz and pop history. Join Weimar vocal ensemble »Probst Identity« for a musical retrospective in the guise of a clever acapella arrangement.
Recyclete Klänge
The room comprises a workshop and sound lab in which guests can create instruments from »waste products« and then play them. The »waste products« are given a new function and offer the scope for unusual sound experiments.
Xenakis Project | Space.Transition.Concert
The »Broken Frames Syndicate« (BFS) ensemble, led by HfM alumnus Moritz Schneidewendt, together with architect Dr. Luise Nerlich, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, has created the »Xenakis Project«, a »Space.Transition.Concert«, which focuses on the interplay of music and architecture.
Lichtspiele reANIMIERT
This installation based on Schwerdtfeger’s/Hirschfeld-Mack’s light-plays removes the separation between artists and audiences in order to create new light-play in a spontaneous and playful act of cooperation.
STÖRFRIED – A Spatialization
Words refract in light, widen the sound. A canvas divides impression and expression, they face each other in the shades. The room is the medium. The self is the space.
Sternstunde 1930
Around 1930 an »absolutely modern« attitude to life culminated at the magical places of the avant-garde - whether Bauhaus, or Berlin - an amalgam of acoustic and optical stimuli from jazz, German talkies and new photography. Audiences will find a collage of these elements in our space. Get up and dance!
Home & Away
The feeling of being home and away is staged in a poetic way, it’s about the searching for ones’ self-determination and freedom and about finding ones place in the world. In a space that is somewhere between the sky and the sea.
Space & Depth
The installation is focused on the themes of the sky and the sea and their connection. Like in the work »Home and Away« three different places are represented that are as much different as they are alike and cannot exist without each other.
□3 Klub Kubik and Geometrische Groovebox
»□3 Klub Kubik« clarifies contours, varies structures and positions the audience and space in an architecturally and atmospheric area of conflict through rhythm and movement. »Geometrische Groovebox« Open short performance – in which the audience can also get involved in by making sound – which plays with Schlemmer’s painting »Concentric Group«.
1+1=6
1 + 1 = 6 We’re going on a date. I’m excited. No one knows what will happen. What are we going to do? The second, third and then the twenty-eighth date. ›A look‹ at the romantic, chaotic connection between art and music.
Klingeltonfabrik
These days everything is customized. But who has their own ring tone recorded live? The vocal ensemble ›die Katze im Sack‹ does exactly this - singing favourite texts recorded as a sound file for use on the audience’s own mobile phones.
Revisiting Utopia: Modernist Housing in Cities of the Global North and South
What is modernisms legacy in different contexts around the world? This exhibition shows the result of a Master's seminar reflecting on modernism, modernity and modernization through case studies in seven countries: Chile, Morocco, Russia, Serbia, UK, USA and Uzbekistan.
SAAT
The installation brings sound waves and the formative elements of these into the space on an equal footing. Both become emancipated into sculpture and energy in an unconditional parallelism, which seeks to capture the polyphony in sound and matter, in an elementary, process-like manner.
KlangProxemik
Klang Proxemik works with the sound localisation of the human in a space. Proxemics is the distance and direction from human to human or human to object. The sound-emitting bodies in the installation make this audible - in this way space and sound are experienced through movement.
Space in motion
In celebration of the Bauhaus Centenary we are creating a new and vivid space that will interact with music and movement. Experience an interplay of textile, music, light and performance, that will transform the Bauhaus.Atelier into an evening of sensual adventure.
Ein Bauhaus am Buchenwald
19 spotlights shine from 19 windows of a room in the Main Building towards the Buchenwald Memorial. The names of 19 Bauhausers who were murdered by the National Socialists appear on the windows.
Büro Bauhaus
The Bauhaus office is a loose formation of graphic design students working together on real projects. The design of the »Republic of Spirits« corporate identity was a commission from the 2018/2019 winter semester.
Plazentaraum
When plants, carpets, pillows, and atmospheric light unite, all ways are cleared for a grounded and undisturbed celebration to unfold – being situated, be seated, nipping tea, sketching, get to know each other and feeling at ease.
Frauenzimmer
The »Frauenzimmer« displays a collection of clothing by students in the style of historical dressmaker, weaver and costume-maker practices. A historical room installation stages the working and living spaces of women of the weaving workshop in the Prellerhaus, Dessau.
Chromatron
»Chromatron« is an audiovisual installation which breaks away from usual patterns of perception and leaves visitors doubting their spatial judgement abilities. The room is turned into a completely new experience of perception through 360° projection mapping and audio systems.

Apparition
Her image flickers in and out like a broken neon sign. Humming and clipping and popping, she is only observable from a distance. The title, »Apparition«, is a reference to seeing and discovering something remarkable or startling.
Gitarren
The »Licheri guitars« are a tribute to the origins of the Bauhaus, the synthesis of arts and crafts. Minimalistic instruments conceived according to the motto »form follows function«. The guitars are basic-- made of a spinal column and modular and hexaphonic pickups.
FYI
Johannes Itten and his Bauhaus friends gave a great deal of thought to colour, shape and the irrefutable rules of harmony underlying them. 100 years later, we invite you to bathe in »FYI’s« colour combinations and challenge their findings.
1D2D3D4D – Argumented Reality
1D for 1 idea. 2D for the knitting. 3D for the argumentation. 4D for the music. A symbiosis of woolen blankets, augmented reality and music. The exhibit collages surreal impressions with the second and third dimension. Haptic and optic. Sound and snippets. Fun and filter.
Cirque du Bauhaus – Immersives Musiktheater (Preview). Live-Orchester, 360-Grad Video-Episoden
Students from the Weimar universities have founded the fictitious »Cirque du Bauhaus«. Premiere: 22 May 2019, Jena Planetarium, opening night of the FullDome Festival.
Kollektiv
The Kollektiv, a mutually supportive network of friends, creates, in artistic exchange, a spatial concept which represents the most varied medial positions – from photographs and graphics via installations and collages to film and sound.
Polycephalum feedback loop – interactive bauhaus biolab
We are surrounded by invisible, mysterious realms. The audience is invited to venture into one of these realms in the »DIY Bauhaus Biolab« and interact with physarum polycephalum slime mould. How will it respond?
Sound experiments in the Oberlichtsaal
Synergies of architecture and music unfold through a concert in the spatially-acoustic installation.
Encoding Kunstfiguren
The interactive performance invites visitors to explore the campus of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar by foot and experience the correlation between space and body, manifested in the »Kunstfigur«.
Bauhaus.Oasis II
The Gropius room as Franz and Walter’s »meeting room« – For the »Republic of Spirits« Bauhaus Festival, the Gropius room pavilion will be inaugurated at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar campus and brought to life.
here, now
»here, now« is about multiculturalism and immigration. The collective of performers uses the public space to tackle visibility while playing with situations of self-affirmation, vulnerability and exposure, taking in account political bodies and variety of languages.
Spelunke
In the historical, dimly illuminated Park Cave the clear designs of the Bauhaus are a world away - arm wrestling competitions, hard liquor, live music and smoky air. The ›Bauhaus-Liederbuch der Trunkenheit‹ has been published for the drinking song competition, and all are welcome to join in!
Die Lücke
»Die Lücke« is back! For the second time, the temporary restaurant made of recycled materials opens its doors. On 12 April at 12 p.m. we celebrate the start of the summer season. Let us surprise you and come to Marienstraße 11 - we are looking forward to seeing you!
