Republic of Spirits, Republik der Geister!
The Weimar Universities' Bauhaus Festival
On 12 April 2019, exactly 100 years after the founding of the State Bauhaus, the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are celebrating the great »Bauhausfest« together.
The »Republik der Geister, Republic of Spirits!« saw thousands of guests stroll though both universities‘ buildings discovering new things. The rooms evolved through performances, art, concerts and music, light, sounds and installations. Students, instructors, alumni, and university employees of both universities joined forces to create this symbiosis. Relaxing sound oases, interactive colour games, acoustic room installations, mobile phone sounds performed, or an inaccessible den – guests were treated to a party that flickered into the next morning.
