»ሠላም bauhaus – hello Bauhaus«: Exhibition on German-Ethiopian Academic Cooperation in Addis Ababa

After its stop in Weimar in occasion of the annual exhibition »summary2019«, the »ሠላም [selam] bauhaus« show will move to our Ethiopian partner university in October 2019.

The exhibition, which has been organized for the centenary year of Bauhaus and the 65th anniversary of EiABC, focuses on previous projects in research and academia as well as on future options for the partnership between the two universities. However, it also addresses the phenomenon of rapidly growing cities in Africa, where rural-urban migration and rapid urban growth pose major social challenges that scientists at both universities are trying to tackle with digital tools for urban decision-making and participatory planning processes.

The exhibition is supported by the Emerging City Lab – Addis Ababa (ECL-AA), which was founded in 2015 as a joint research institution and has since established itself as an international and transdisciplinary network of researchers, lecturers and industrial partners.

The project is supported by the »Integrated Infrastructure« research project (Federal Ministry of Education and Research), the »Bauhaus100« Bauhaus-Universität Weimar fund and EiABC of Addis Ababa University.
