Bauhaus.Podcast series and programme poster provide information about the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the centenary year

Two new formats to keep people up-to-date with how »Bauhaus 100« is being celebrated at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar poster programme for the centenary year

The Bauhaus centenary has been actively designed by teaching staff, students and employees from across all areas of the University. This has led to a programme featuring some 70 lecture series, exhibit series, conferences, festivities and many other events for which the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is opening its doors to a large audience for 2019. The programme poster is hot off the press and offers a complete overview of centenary year 2019, and shows how vibrant the Bauhaus concepts still are today at the birthplace of the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar. The poster layout comes from Patrick Martin and Tobias Dahl of the Happy Little Accidents agency in Leipzig, which also created the »Bauhaus Weimar 100« corporate design for the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Both Martin and Dahl are alumni of the University. The characteristic photographic look comes from the photography duo Samuel Solazzo and Jannis Uffrecht, students at the University. The programme poster can be ordered together with the centenary brochure at bauhaus100@uni-weimar.de.

Bauhaus.Podcast

An additional format which provides interesting insights into the centenary programme is the Bauhaus.Podcast. The podcast series reports on event highlights and topics throughout the Bauhaus centenary year in the form of regular audio recordings. The features are listed under a heading and provide the background information, evaluation and commentaries on the events at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
For example, episode 1 of the Bauhaus.Podcast »Utopias« provides a descriptive insight regarding the centenary year kick-off, which began in October 2018 with the Bauhaus.Karawanen. The podcast also investigates which utopias are relevant today for study and in research. Episode 2 accompanies the first Bauhaus-guest professor Patrica Espinosa during her visit in Weimar. As UN Climate Diplomat, for many years Patricia Espinosa has been advocating a global policy to counter climate change and aims to raise the awareness of students and staff towards the fact that sustainable thoughts and action in all areas of society are a prerequisite for achieving the climate goals set by the UN and reducing the effects of global warming. In this connection she sees educating young people at universities such as Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as a particularly important task.

The host of the podcast is Maximilian Netter, alumnus of the Experimentelles Radio at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and author of numerous radio-features and audio pieces for broadcasters such as WDR, RBB and Deutschlandfunk. In 2018 he was jointly responsible for the Documenta »SAVVY FUNK« radio. The Bauhaus.Podcast is editorially supervised by Claudia Weinreich, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar media relations officer and publicist.
