Introductory course for winter semester 2017/18

An introductory university course serves as a bridge between the differentiated academic career paths of the first semester and the challenges of university teaching and research formats. It offers training in specialist cultural tools, as well as in standards for presenting art and science to the general public. Getting to know each other and the place of study in a fun way is not to be underestimated, as it makes the stages that follow significantly easier. The mentoring professors for the various courses adapt the format to provide a meaningful, sustainable addition to their existing curriculum.

The general introductory course was held for the first time in the 2018/19 winter semester and ended with Bauhaus caravans passing through the city to celebrate the beginning of the Bauhaus.Semester. The introductory course is taking place in autumn 2019 under the title »BAUHAUS_ORBITAL: Bauhaus satellites hover over the Weimar campus«.
