8.5. EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES? Female artists today: podium discussion at Kunsthalle Erfurt

As part of the »BauhausFrauen. Lehrerinnen und Absolventinnen der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar« (BauhausWomen. Teachers and graduates of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) exhibition, a podium discussion entitled »EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES? Female artists today« is taking place at Kunsthalle Erfurt on Wednesday, 8 May 2019, 7pm.

 

The discussion will focus on questions concerning the current state of equality of gender in academic training as well as in the scientific and artistic field, and questions about how female artists today (are able to) operate and are perceived in their careers compared with their male colleagues. 

The guests invited for the podium discussion are Prof. Liz Bachhuber (Artist, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar), Prof. Dr. Verena Krieger (Art Historian, Friedrich-Schiller University Jena), Carina Linge (Artist, Leipzig), Larissa Kikol (Art Critic, Art Scholar, Cologne and Marseille) as well as Kristian Jarmuschek (Gallery Owner, Chair of the Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler (federal association of German galleries and art dealers), Berlin). They will discuss answers to the questions from a variety of perspectives. 
The discussion will be hosted by Exhibition Curator Prof. Dr. Kai Uwe Schierz (Director of the Erfurt art museums) as well as Curator Susanne Knorr (Curator, Erfurt art museums).

Entry to the event is free of charge.
