In this centenary year, international experts from the fields of architecture, art, humanities, and social sciences are taking a critical look back at the historical Bauhaus and investigating details of its origins. The colloquium will commence with a keynote address by historian and cultural scholar Stephen Kern, Ohio State University. Other presenters at the colloquium include Joyce Tsai from University of Iowa, Zeynep Çelik Alexander from Columbia University, Karin Wilhelm from TU Braunschweig, Christa Kamleithner from Humboldt University of Berlin, Eric Garberson from Virginia Commonwealth University, and Christof Dipper from TU Darmstadt.
A particular highlight is the exclusive preview of excerpts from the film »The New Bauhaus. How László Moholy-Nagy Brought a Movement to Chicago« on Thursday, 11 April, 6pm, which will be showing in cinemas in autumn 2019.
