Internationales Bauhaus-Kolloquium 2019

From 10 to 12 April 2019 specialists will be congregating in Weimar for the 14th International Bauhaus Colloquium. Over 250 persons have already registered for the event. Registration is still possible up to 9 April 2019 via the website.


In this centenary year, international experts from the fields of architecture, art, humanities, and social sciences are taking a critical look back at the historical Bauhaus and investigating details of its origins. The colloquium will commence with a keynote address by historian and cultural scholar Stephen Kern, Ohio State University. Other presenters at the colloquium include Joyce Tsai from University of Iowa, Zeynep Çelik Alexander from Columbia University, Karin Wilhelm from TU Braunschweig, Christa Kamleithner from Humboldt University of Berlin, Eric Garberson from Virginia Commonwealth University, and Christof Dipper from TU Darmstadt. 

A particular highlight is the exclusive preview of excerpts from the film »The New Bauhaus. How László Moholy-Nagy Brought a Movement to Chicago« on Thursday, 11 April, 6pm, which will be showing in cinemas in autumn 2019.
