Invitation to the grand opening of the newly designed Bauhaus-Universität Weimar outdoor facilities

The grand opening of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar outdoor facilities will take place this Tuesday, 2 April 2019 at 1pm. The central square in front of the Van de Velde Building and University Main Building - also built according to Van de Velde's plans -UNESCO World Heritage Sites will again be open to the public after about a year of construction. The opening ceremony also marks the beginning of the Bauhaus Centenary celebration weeks, during which visitors have access to a rich programme of events throughout the city.

Together with students, employees, and friends of the University, as well as other guests, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is celebrating the opening of the newly designed outdoor facilities.  The event will begins with a welcoming speech from Prof. Dr. Winfried Speitkamp, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar; Minister Birgit Keller, Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture; Matthias Staubach, capatti staubach landscape architects; and Mr. Dirk Slawinsky, Student Government representative.

 

Afterwards, the ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place.

Following this, all guests are invited to a champagne reception with musical accompaniment.
