»Materie Neu Denken – Reassessing Material«: Fine Art and Environmental Engineering students present exhibition in Bangladesh

The interdisciplinary travelling exhibition »Reassessing Material« presented by students of Fine Art and Environmental Engineering has moved on from Barcelona (2018) and is now in Khulna (Bangladesh). As part of the 2019 WasteSafe conference and in conjunction with the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), the exhibition is showcasing artistic and scientific work by 16 students and seven tutors that relates to current environmental, refuse and wastewater issues and supports a realignment of the concept of »waste«.

Keynote speaker Prof. em. Liz Bachhuber, Prof. Jörg Londong and Prof. Eckhard Kraft will give presentations as part of the conference on environmental issues. The students joining the trip will enjoy intensive discussion on the topics of waste and recycling with students of partner universities Khulna University and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology as part of joint workshops. As well as gaining the project an international presence as part of »Bauhaus 100«, there has also been increased University cooperation emphatically advocating the project’s aim of improving environmental awareness.
