On the occasion of the anniversary year, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be supporting projects that deal with the ideas, history, and development of Bauhaus. The projects submitted by students, research assistants, professors, and alumni will all play a major role in the University’s anniversary programme, an overview of which can be found on this site.

From April 2019, an audio tour will guide those interested in the Bauhaus to both well-known and lesser-known Bauhaus sites in Weimar.

Vibrant, open to experimentation, creative and international: in 2019, several exhibitions in Weimar and Berlin will show just what artistic and scientific work looks like at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar today.
Manifest of Practice
The »Manifest of Practice« exhibition illustrates the Faculty of Art and Design’s current positions and exemplifies the dialogue between the Faculty’s art and design disciplines.
Haifa/Erfurt. Architecture of Modernity in Dialogue.
This exhibit showcases photography and research of modern architecture in Erfurt and Haifa. Although the two cities have developed differently and far away from one another, they have been linked as twin cities since 2000 and are about to enter into a dialogue and examine both their similarities and differences.
bauhaus - resonanz
In preparation for the Bejing Design Week in Area 798, the »bauhaus = impuls + resonanz« exhibition held from 19 to 24 September 2017 aimed to illustrate the history and ideas and reception of the early Bauhaus.

Collect Bauhaus
What has become of the Bauhaus and its original works? Jasha Fibich tracks down Bauhaus pieces from antique dealers and art collectors. He critically analyses and photographs the individual pieces and their story as well as the collectors’ connection with Bauhaus design.
Reinvention of Matter
At the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the value of used goods has been reassessed and questioned in a collaboration between artists who examine a find and environmental engineers who deal with infrastructure for waste and water. The used material, which is still referred to as rubbish, waste or sewage, gains a new perspective through the consideration and symbolisation of its constant change and transformation.
NEXT100
NEXT100 is a unique Weimar‐based exhibition platform that presents experiemental, large format installations, audio‐visual performances and media architecture works, from an array of international artists, that address the role of technology to explore new artistic formats and potentials.

The Matter of Data. Tracing the Materiality of »Bauhaus modernism«
A project of the Centre for Documentary Architecture curated by Ines Weizman. The project »The Matter of Data« relates the migration history of the architecture of so-called »Bauhaus Modernism« to the logistics of the export of building components and materials from Germany to Palestine in the 1930s.
